HP Eliteboard G1a: a full desktop mini PC hidden inside a keyboard

At CES 2026, HP unveiled an unusual device that looks like a standard office keyboard on the outside. In reality, it is a fully functional desktop mini PC with all hardware components built directly into the keyboard chassis.

The Eliteboard G1a has no traditional system unit — the entire system literally “lives” inside the keyboard.

HP managed to fit the processor, RAM, storage, cooling system, stereo speakers, and a full set of ports into the compact body.

The device connects via USB-C, supporting two 4K monitors in daisy-chain mode, while a mouse is connected via Bluetooth.

2. Performance powered by AMD Ryzen AI

Computing power is provided by AMD Krackan Point processors, ranging from the Ryzen AI 5 350 to the Ryzen AI 7 370 Pro.

These are full desktop-class CPUs with AI acceleration, designed for office work, multimedia, and basic professional tasks.

The Eliteboard G1a keyboard can be customized to meet individual needs.

HP offers versions with a fingerprint scanner and a removable 35 Wh battery, providing around 3.5 hours of autonomous use.

Configurations are available with up to 2 TB SSD storage and up to 64 GB of DDR5 memory across two SODIMM slots.

4. Design, weight, and typing feel

The entire device weighs up to 726 grams, making it relatively portable for its class.

The keys have approximately 2 mm of travel and a slight flex, maintaining the feel of a full-size keyboard.
